Könnuðarstyrkur Líffræðifélagsins er veittur í samvinnu með Les Amis de Jean Baptiste Charcot.
Styrkurinn er ætlaður meðlimum Líffræðifélagsins sem eru nemendur á framhaldsstigi í líffræði eða skyldum greinum við íslenska háskóla.
Markmið Könnuðarstyrksins er að fjármagna feltferðir, styðja við rannsóknaleiðangra, eða samskonar atferli sem heiðrar minningu líffræðingsins og landkönnuðarins Jean-Baptiste Charcot.
Hámarksupphæð sem er veitt nemur 200.000 kr. Mögulegt er að styrkja fleiri en eitt verkefni ef heildar kostnaður verkefnanna er innan við hámarksupphæð sjóðsins.
Síðasti skilafrestur umsókna var 15. apríl, 2025 og úthlutun tilkynnt 15. maí, 2025.

The Explorer’s Grant of the Icelandic Biological Society is awarded in cooperation with Les Amis de Jean Baptiste Charcot.
The grant is intended for members of the Society who are graduate students in biology or related disciplines at an Icelandic university.
The aim of the Explorers’ Grant is to finance field trips, support research expeditions, or similar activities that honor the memory of the biologist and explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot.
The maximum amount that is awarded is ISK 200,000. It is possible to support more than one project if the total requested for the projects is less than the maximum amount of the fund.
The last deadline for applications was April 15th, 2025 and allocations were announced on May 15th, 2025.
