Living systems are founded on interactive structural and functional relations which result in responsive processes generating meaningful living forms. These processes and forms can be studied at different scales ranging form molecules to ecosystems. Learning about these systemic interactions and processes not only allows us to understand better how life works but also promotes successful practice in medical and environmental sciences. In this presentation we explore some of the benefits of comparing Indigenous and Western ways of knowing in the exploration of living systems.
